Rocky Mountain Instrument breaks ground for new facility
Laser Focus World June, 1998
As part of an ambitious expansion plan, Rocky Mountain Instrument Co.
(Longmont, CO) has begun construction of a new 90,000-sq ft home in
nearby Lafayette, effectively doubling the work space of the company.
The building should be ready by the end of October 1998. A second phase
of construction will add an additional 60,000 sq ft by the fall of next
year. Company president Yubong Hahn expects the company to grow from
its current 125 employees to 400 within five years. The primary engine
of growth for this optics and coating business will be its
laser-marking system, for which it already has numerous orders.
