Rocky Mountain Instrument Co. (Lafayette, CO), a manufacturer of high quality laser and imaging optics and thin film coatings, has been awarded a $2.2M contract with TEXTRON Systems. The contract is for the delivery of mission critical infrared and near infrared lenses used for lasing and sensing in the BLU-108 smart submunition. RMI's extensive manufacturing and coating expertise was key in meeting the stringent optical and mechanical requirements of the lenses.
