Lafayette, Colorado – 3/16/2015 – Rocky Mountain Instrument Co. (RMI) has enhanced their laser optics product line with a new generation of precision laser optics for use in Nd:YAG and fiber lasers. Products include upgraded lenses, beamsplitters, polarizing components, super flat mirrors, and high damage threshold coatings that operate in the 1 micron wavelength region.

Utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and stringent quality control protocols throughout the entire manufacturing process, RMI technicians and scientists ensure that this new generation of optics has the best level of performance within the laser system. Key specifications – including high transmission, wavefront, and laser damage threshold (LDT) – are carefully analyzed and measured by RMI technicians and scientists. These measurements are rigorously tested at the RMI facility through the use of a high power Nd:YAG laser that was recently upgraded as a part of the in-house metrology program.

These components are fabricated, coated, and tested at RMI's Colorado facility to ensure maximum efficiency within Nd:YAG and fiber laser systems. RMI has a long history with optical fabrication and specializes in the materials used in Nd:YAG and fiber laser optics including Fused Silica, BK7, and other various optical glass. Backed by years of experience in laser optics, this new generation of Nd:YAG and Fiber lasers compliments RMI's existing line of laser optics including those for use in CO2 lasers. In addition to laser optics, RMI is also a manufacturer of precision optics for use in imaging applications.
