Enhanced Silver is comprised of silver overcoated with a multilayer dielectric film that is designed to optimize reflectance at a specific wavelength. The enhancing layer also greatly improves durability, meeting MIL SPEC requirements.

This coating is sensitive to wavelength, angle of incidence and polarization.

Enhanced Silver is used to enhance the reflectivity of Bare Silver, most commonly in the visible region. At 532nm, Bare Silver will deliver about 98% reflectivity. Using Enhanced Silver at the same wavelength will deliver reflectivity of about 99.5%.

Reflectance values can be optimized further by adding more layers to the enhancing overcoat. This option is available upon request.
