Quality Test Engineer

Rocky Mountain Instrument, CO. is looking for a Quality Test Engineer who has experience with laser damage testing and environmental testing. The Quality Test Engineer utilizes technical skills and tools to effectively and efficiently test optical components.  This position provides support by performing all testing activities and assisting the final quality team to complete successful projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and execute laser damage testing for various optical components.
  • Maintain and execute all environmental quality testing.
  • Follow quality assurance standards and track quality assurance activities.
  • Communicate effectively with team members at all levels.
  • Create test strategies, test estimation and all planning activities.
  • Document test results and assist with return management.
  • Produce status reports related to the testing process.
  • Perform analysis related to enhancements to the application.
  • Review and maintain all project documentation in accordance with department procedures.
  • Assist with technical artifacts and engage in technical discussions.
  • Support testing of application and environmental upgrades as well as resolution of production issues.
  • Maintain understanding of current and new testing technologies.
  • Support improvements to tool management.
  • Assist with team training needs and other responsibilities as assigned.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or commensurate experience
  • 4+ years Quality Assurance experience
  • Experience creating and maintaining laser damage testing preferred
  • Experience with change management and defect tracking tools
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong ability to manage business relationships
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and written communications
  • High standards of confidentiality; ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and trust

General Machinist

Rocky Mountain Instrument Company (RMI) is a high-tech manufacturer of precision optical components for medical, aerospace and industrial applications. We are actively seeking talented new members to join our firm and help us to reach our growth objectives.

We are seeking a general machinist in a small production setting.

This position creates tooling and fixtures using various conventional and CNC machines in a small machine shop. They will also perform prototype work for end product. Individual must have basic CNC knowledge specifically in millwork. Prototrak is a plus.

Minimum of 3-5 years of general machinist experience with proficiency in running a Bridgeport mill and engine lathe required.

Candidate must have own measuring tools.

This is a full-time position with benefits after 90 days employment

Thin Film Coating Technician

Rocky Mountain Instrument Company (RMI) is a high-tech manufacturer of precision optical components for medical, aerospace and industrial applications. We are actively seeking talented new members to join our firm and help us to reach our growth objectives.

We are seeking Thin Film Coating Technicians. This position requires the operation of a high-vacuum chamber and to perform thin film coating through the use of an electronic beam gun or resistance heater.

Rocky Mountain Instrument Company will train, but would prefer you have an Associate’s Degree in a field of science.

This position starts at $12.00/Hr, full benefits available after 90 days.
